A premier cooking apple. Named for its exceptional fruit size. Tree bears large, attractive, bright-yellow apples splashed with red. Flesh is firm and juicy, with a tender texture once baked – perfect for pies and other desserts. Antique variety, thought to originate from New York or Connecticut, circa 1800s. Cold-hardy.
