Super Strong Growth
I first read about this variety of Apple Tree in a book by Eric Sloane way back in 1975. The book was entitled "Noah Blake; Diary of Early American Boy". It was a story garnished from a leather bound journal Mr. Sloane found when he tore down a barn in North Western Connecticut back in the 1950's. I also knew that this variety was one of the heirloom trees that Miller's Nurseries had carried before it's merger with Starks so I bought one in honor of Noah Blake and Eric Sloane. Last year it doubled it's size. So far this year it has put on 12 more inches. All my tree and bush purchases from Starks get planted with a tree tube surrounding them. This protects from all kinds of danger both seen and unseen and then in the fall the trunks get wrapped in tree protectors, no sense letting mice and voles girdle your tree, which they will do if the snow lays on the ground 20 inches deep for weeks on end.

Westfield SeekNoFurther Apple
I like the antique apples. I am familiar with the Westfield from my Grandfather's orchard as good eating apple as well as it being a good cooking apple.
