cold hardy varieties

I love figs. All my raspberries I ordered before died, so I am hoping for at least one to survive.

I like figs. I have a fig tree in the ground for 3-4 years. Never a fig. Planting three trees will take care of pollination, for sure. I like Brown Turkey and Celeste, but am not familiar with…

Stark Bro's takes you by the hand and literally leads you down the garden path. They identified my growing zone and made recommendations for the trees I wanted. They suggested a package deal which…

Can I plant these in the fall?

Mine did not survive the winter. I live at 8500 feet in the mountains where we have very cold temperatures, but not below zero. Also, we had lots of snow and wind. I planted in the fall so maybe they did not have enough time to get established.

Do deer eat fig trees?

I just planted mine 6 weeks ago and so far they are leaving it alone. They are eating other things all around it but not the fig tree. I am in North Texas and we have deer in the yard every day.

Can I order larger trees that produce fruit sooner. How much?

unfortunatley our trees are younger and typically wont produce any sooner than advertised.

What size is the Cold-Hardy Fig tree when delivered?

That will depend upon which option you choose. Please see the "Choose an option" dropdown menu near the top of the page, which will show you the various sizes/options that are available. If you scroll down on the collection page you can se these ship in 4x4x10 pots so they will range from 1.5-3 feet tall at shipping.

The head of my community garden says that fig trees don't do well if left outside over the winter. She said that if we were to have a fig tree it would have to go home with someone for it's winter rest.

Fig Trees
So far, so good. They've only been in the ground a coupe of weeks, and it's winter now, so I won't know how they're doing until spring. They looked pretty healthy when I got them and planted them.

Top notch experience!
I have ordered many different plants online from several sources and Stark Bro's has been by far the best experience thus far. My cold hardy fig collection was packed beautifully, were very healthy and the easy pot feature made the planting process a breeze. It has been only two weeks and already all three varieties have gone from buds to six inches of growth despite the 90 degree weather we have been having lately. Great job Stark Bro's, thank you!

Well, they're still alive, and that's pretty cool. Beyond that, I don't have much to report yet. Ask me again in a year or so.
