This particular peach is the one that looked more like all that I have had experience with. My friend was wanting a peach tree and I think she will really love this one.

My husband said he heard it was a good place to buy my trees

They're free trees are great have never gotten a bad one

how do you treat peach borers?

I use latex paint in spray cans to coat the trunk and larger branches as high as 4 feet or more and this prevents penetration of the bark by the pest. Every winter I check for coverage and repaint as needed. You can use cheap , white latex in cans or even brush it on. I have not had peeling bark or dead branches caused by borers since doing this. This trick was suggested to me by a radio gardening call-in host and master gardener.

What is semi-freestone?

I have about 120 peach trees. Freestone peaches allow you to completely
remove the pit by cutting around the peach. Twist the two halves and remove
the pit from one of the halves. Semi-freestone are not as easy. The peach does tends to stick to some of the pit, but it will come out if you dig it out. Cling-stone means you cannot remove the pit freely. The peach is grown attached to the pit. Cling-stone peaches usually ripen early season. Then semi-freestone and then freestone peaches. Generally.

Is this a freestone peach?

This is considered a semi-freestone variety.

What time of year is best for new grow?

We appreciate you reaching out to us. Because weather and soil conditions vary so much from year to year and even within your zone, it's best to think of your planting time as a range of favorable conditions instead of an exact time.

You can plant new plants and trees:
1) when the ground is not frozen.
2) when daytime temperatures are above freezing (32ºF) and below 90ºF.
3) when extreme weather (blizzard, hail, torrential rain, etc.) is not in the forecast. Be sure to keep plants watered if you're transplanting in warm and/or dry weather.

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

Are these Freestone peaches?

These are semi freestone.

We often have warm weather in early spring and then a frost...do you have any late blooming peach varieties?  Are they dwarf or semi- dwarf varieties?

Hi Juanita, Check out the Redhaven, Cresthaven and Contender Peach. These are all late bloomers but unfortunately we do not have them in dwarf of semi-dwarf size. We only have standards available.

Very Rapid growth
Well I am giving this 5 stars although I just planted it late this past spring, the reason is the incredible growth experienced so shortly after planting! I attribute this to the fact it was an "Easy Start" version with well established roots that were hardly disturbed at all by the (incredibly easy!) planting process, in any case with it being planted in loamy soil and with attention to soil moisture, PH, etc this thing literally grew like the proverbial weed! This has sold me on the "Easy Start" option and in the future I will gladly pay the extra cost associated with this method as it without a doubt saved at least one season before bearing fruit!

Prolific Grower In Zone 7B
I potted this 4th Of July peach last spring and planted it last Fall. It bloomed this year and produced several peaches along with heavy growth. The trunk of this tree is now over one inch thick and the tree is six feet tall. The squirrels got the peaches off of it this year - just as they began to ripen as they turned a pretty red in June. The fruit of this tree is not large, but ripens early here in zone 7B.

Vigorous Growth
I bought & planted this plant in fall of 2017 and it was just a small twig sticking out of the ground. Looking at the small skinny twig all winter, I didn't think this plant would make it through the cold harsh winter. I was so wrong in so many ways. This skinny little twig bulked up over an inch and a half in trunk diameter and reached a height of six feet in one season! Unbelievable! Another thing, I live in middle Georgia with lots of red clay soil which did not hinder the plant at all. Very vigorous growth. I haven't tasted the fruit yet but I read that it is very good tasting fruit. I can't wait. February 8, 2019

everything as expected
2- 4th of July peach trees were planted in the fall of 2016. Both are doing well, but of course I haven't sampled any fruit yet. Would, and have, recommended Stark Bros. fruit trees.

All of them lived!
We have salty soil. Stark Brothers has replaced things for us. That's why I recommend them to everyone. None of our 4th of July peach trees died and they look wonderful.

4th of July Peace is a Pip!
The 4th of July peach has grown beautifully and I'm hoping to be able to taste some delicious looking peaches pretty soon. It seems to have grown and be
free of insect issues for the last year, a beautiful shaped tree! Thanks Stark Bros.Dr. R.S.

Best Tasting Peaches
I planted 4 of the 4th of July peach trees in 2010 along with RedHaven, Reliance, Elberta and Starking Delicious peaches from Stark Bros. The 4th of July peaches definitely come ripe first and are the best tasting peaches of them all! The fruit needs to be thinned as the tree produces far too many peaches that end up being small in size compared to other varieties. People that I have shared them with told me they were the best tasting peaches they have ever had. I wish the trees grew as fast and as large as the Red Haven, but these trees are a great value to me to have early fruit and fantastic tasting fruit that is so sweet you can smell it 100 feet away.
