Late-blooming mid-season winner. Large 3” diameter fruit is mostly a raging scarlet red over a yellow background, with firm yellow flesh. Tree is vigorous and very prolific, but requires less thinning to get those big, beautiful peaches for fresh-eating, baking into pies and cobblers, or processing. Low susceptibility to bacterial spot. Cold-hardy and blooms later, naturally avoiding some — if not all — frost damage. Freestone. Ripens in mid-August. Self-pollinating, but yields bigger crops when planted near a different peach variety with a similar bloom time. Introduced in 2005. May be covered by USPP #17,578 or other patents.
