Medium-to-large fruit features a russeted dark yellow skin and smooth, aromatic flesh that is juicy, sweet and tender. Perfect for eating fresh, baking or drying. Best at room temperature. Nice pollinator for the anjou pears.
Price more reasonable. Bosc Pears are sweet. These may grow in the bootheel especially if the root system is not too deep. hence dwarf or semidwarf trees. Raised bed garden does not hurt.
