Deliciously sweet. This variety has a similar shape to Bartlett, but features higher sugar content. Its brilliant, bright-red skin makes it a dramatic dessert pear. Good when eaten fresh or canned. Originates from Victoria, Australia, in the early 1930s and introduced circa 1959. Harvest in late August. Best pollinators: Starking® Delicious™ or Moonglow. I have a backyard orchard , it didn't include a pear tree. I have Asian pears which should cross pollinate this pear tree. Many of my trees have come from Stark Bros. and have always been good quality healthy trees

We wanted a desert pear. High sugar content should make it great for fresh eating or hopefully for baking. We also sell eggs to a local-foods restaurant, so we're thinking they may want to buy these for deserts they make.

What if any resistance to Fire Blight has this tree?
Trine on Feb 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure. I planted tree last year and saw no signs of blight during summer.
Will the Red Bartlett pear pollinate Red Sensational pear? Is it truly a Bartlett pear or just has the name?
Reese on Oct 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is essentially the same pear, but with a different skin color. Texture, flavor and juiciness are the same, and the skin turns brighter as it ripens, just like the original Bartlett. Red Bartlett will indeed pollinate Red Sensation.
Does this pollinate with Chojuro pears?
Debbie on May 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it does.

All three look good
I planted these in a bed in my garden and waited a year to transplant them in the orchard. This worked well as they are very healthy and looking good.

Red Sensation Pear
The red sensation dwarf pear tree has only been in the ground since November of 2016 and this spring it blossomed with 100's of blossoms. I am hoping that it will provide me with lots of pears in the years to come.

Tough tree
I had planted this one near another pear but a neighbors shrubs quickly outgrew my little tree and it struggled for the last 2 years. We moved it last summer to a place with better sun and this pear looks so much better this spring. It will likely take another year before I can hope to see any pears with it but I am very happy to see it thriving. It is a strong tree and I have fallen in love with its character, its leafing.

Love your trees!
This one came really small, like a little and thin branch. It was kind of difficult to imagine that one day this branch can be a standard pear tree! The whole last season it didn't change much, until the root system got establish and then, this season, this "branch" suddenly became a pretty small tree, which is intensively keeps growing. It is too early talk about pears yet, but I'm hoping to see and have fruits very soon. I still have to learn a lot about gardening, because I just started my first fruit and nut tree garden, as well as vegetable garden, only two years ago. Thanks to Stark Bros customer service: they help a lot! Hope to have more trees from this nursery later, when I would learn more about care for the trees.

Still in early stage
It is growing well and continues to advance through out this spring. It was a small tree upon receipt and it will be several years before it bears fruit.
