Last year I bought a green gage from them and it was a nicely formed bare root stock. Solid trunk up to about 3 to 4 ft with multiple trimmed shoots in a compact area (roots were cut back good so I applied rooting hormone powder the first 5 waterings) I planted and it grew out a bit then the deer ate the new growth back, so I fenced it. Then, it exploded with growth. I tied down shoots and now it's going on its 2nd season with rocking the open center wine glass look. It honestly looks really nice and uniform, 12-15 different limbs about 4 ft. First time with plum trees, they are fun to grow and tend to so far. The japanese beetles really love their leaves though, my goodness. Might have to try to spray kaolin clay. Peace

So far so good. Just planted a few weeks back as a bare rooted plant. I will say the tree was substantial compared to other trees I ordered from competitors. It is very much thicker and a more developed root system. We are looking forward to having the fruit from this green gage plum in the coming years !

Beautiful tree that arrived in perfect condition. I hadn't realized how pretty this tree would be with reddish stems against the green leaves. It has been in the ground a couple of months and hasn't skipped a beat. I could not be happier with this tree and look forward to see it grow.

So EXCITED about this one!
This bare root tree was massive! I was shocked by how big the roots were when I got it. AND there were a few teeny green leaves trying to bud. Not sure they will matter much this year, but this was my first choice of plum and it made me happy to see!

I've only had it a year but it made it through the winter and I've pruned it to remain small. It has lovely foliage and round growth pattern. Hope to get fruit next year or after. We'll see.

Tree is growing well, I am very happy with all the trees I have ordered from Stark Bros. I planted the tree one year ago, it was about 5/8 inch diameter, now it is around six inches in diameter, big around as a coke can. The tree grew to about eight feet tall the first summer, pruned it back to five and one half feet this spring, and started the vase shape with open center. This is 5/4/17 and its back up to seven feet. Going to keep fruit off the first three years and then see what happens.

Best growing tree in my orchard
I have about 300 trees and have purchased from many places. Stark Bros has been good the majority of the time. This one, however is a freak! I put it in the spring of 2014. It is 15' tall and 6' in wide in the crown. I don't have blooms yet but it's only been two years so I expect a good crop once it starts. I have lots of plum trees around it so it should have no problem pollinating. The trunk is already over 2" in diameter. Great tree.

Well behaved healthy little tree. Only a couple plums last year, should be a few more this year (3rd year).

Too early to say for sure
This is only the first year, so growth is slow. I'm hopeful though.

I am very happy with the Quality of trees I received from stak brothers. This one was no exception it is very healthy and alive but it has yet to break dormancy and it is summer so it will not. Stark brothers is the best site for fruit trees, but this tree does not need to be recommended for my growing area zone 8b
