Long-Day Onion Plant Collection

Available Spring 2019

Supplies are limited so make sure you don't miss out next time by having us automatically notify you when it becomes available again.

Description

The secret to success is anything but “shady.” Long-day onions need 14-15 hours of daylight to form bulbs. Flavors range from mellow and sweet to zippy, and all onions can be used raw, cooked or diced and frozen for quick prep on a busy night. While onion plants are self-pollinating, the other varieties in this assortment will serve to give you an abundance of bulbs.

2018 Order Deadline: Must be ordered before April 29 for spring shipping.

Why did you choose this?
Stark Bro's Store
I have had difficulty starting my own onions from seed, and there are few types of onions available as sets. The long-day transplants did extremely well here in Zone 4 Vermont last year, so I am doubling my order this year. Thank you!

You offer the best deal for this collection. Just the right amount of plants....not a huge amount of each variety.

Perfect amount, variety!
My garden features 12 - 4'x4' raised garden box beds. I dedicated one bed to onions and the amount provided allowed for me to generously fill that space and share extra onions with a neighbor for one healthy row in his garden. The variety of three types is perfect--allowing for me to choose a type of onion for any recipe. I'm definitely going to purchase again!

A great way to get your onions off to a good start
I have not had much luck starting full-size onions from seed inside my home and then moving them to the garden. Buying and planting onion sets works, but there are few varieties available.

Stark's Long Day Onions transplants have been a good solution for me. They arrive healthy, can be planted quickly, and will produce well. Because they are Long Day, they are well-suited to my Zone 4 northern climate.

They worked so well for me last year that I doubled my order this year.

Bountiful Harvests
Lots of massive onions from a single harvest, left what we didn't need in the ground as opposed to pulling them out and curing them, and we had fresh onions from end of summer up until start of winter
