Great Harvest and Even Greater Taste!
Last year (2017), I tried my hand for the first time with potatoes. Husband built a raised bed and in they went. It didn't take long for the first leaves to appear - which was very exciting! I was away for over a month and the potatoes were left unattended and I was not able to make mounds around them which resulted in some potatoes that were green and had to be thrown away.

But overall the experiment was a HUGE success! These potatoes were so juicy and buttery - nothing store bought, even the so called 'new harvest' can touch the texture and taste of home grown potatoes. I stored them in black lined bags in my garage and kept some of the smaller ones as seed potatoes for this year. I look forward to planting those and am of course curious how well those seed potatoes wintered in my garage. Time will tell.
