9 Questions
Why did you choose this?

It will grow in our inhospitable climate and be pretty

for a particular sunny spot in my backyard. Also the price.

Wanted a touch of yellow.

Previously purchased knockout roses for another place in the yard. Love them, they are easy to maintain and so beautiful all spring through fall!

It has “bee” in the name, but has anyone actually seen any honey bees on it frequently? Knock outs aren’t really known for pollen or nectar.

Easy Bee-zy is a blooming machine and because the blooms don’t have a lot of petals they are very attractive to pollinators—but no more so than for any other rose with a similar petal count. Mine aren’t blooming yet but my recollection is that the blooms are also fragrant. However, the yellow color of the blooms is probably most responsible for the name association with bees.

What type of fertilizer is required?

Depends on your soil & conditions. I live in south central Texas with very poor soil with a ph of 7.8 (measured by soil test). All I've ever done is use a bit of any fertilizer I have on hand around the roses (I have over 10 knock outs) in the spring and otherwise just keep them well mulched. The mulch will provide nutrients as it breaks down. These roses aren't picky and grow well for me.

Is this rose immune to the rose rosette disease?

The Easy Breezy Knock Out® Rose, like other Knock Out® roses, is not immune to Rose Rosette Disease (RRD). While these roses are bred to be disease-resistant to common rose ailments like black spot and powdery mildew, they are still susceptible to RRD, which is caused by a virus transmitted by the eriophyid mite.

Will this knock out grow with half day of sun ?

Mine r in sun early morning until mid-day. They were set out last year and are full of blooms. I did fertilize with rose food and they are growing--just small transplants.

What size plant do you ship?

They will ship 4-6 inches tall in a 1 quart pot.

Does this yellow rose have a scent?

Yes! I was surprised at how it bloomed right away with lovely fragrant five petal flowers.

Do they have thorns ?

While they are easy-to-grow and maintain, they do grow bigger each year and can get up to 6 feet tall and wide and are better suited to larger garden beds. They also have pronounced thorns which can make pruning painful.

Does this variety produce rosehips?

Small but Mighty
I admit I was surprised about how tiny this plant is for the price, but I planted and watered frequently and after a month or more it is growing and flowering and I can see it has more than doubled in size. It might take a while, but a beautiful addition to my garden.

I love my Knock Out Roses
I purchased 3 knock out roses several years ago. One didn't survive but the two that did are beautiful. They are about 4 ft tall and are covered in blooms all summer long. I bought three more this spring and so far they are all alive. They don't grow much the first year but by next year they should start putting on some size. I'm not a fan of most roses but I really like the Knock Out Rose. They require very little care and have a nice uniform look.
I always have good results with plants and trees that I get from Stark Bros.

I already got a flower. It was bought as a memorial plant for my cat. It blessed me with a flower on her birthday even though the plant is still teeny tiny.
