Kyoto Red Carrot Seed

A special Kintoki-type carrot, traditionally eaten on the Japanese New Year. Shiny, sweet red carrots have an exceptional texture and caramel-y flavor. Slender roots grow to 10-12”. Striking in stir-fries, salads or simply steamed or roasted, which brings out the caramel flavor. Carrots require light and fluffy soil in full sun, with adequate moisture, but only average fertility. Surface-sow; press in gently and provide consistent irrigation.
