Description

Sonic Bloom® Pink Reblooming Weigela (Weigela florida ‘Bokrasopin’) does something most weigelas can’t — it blooms continuously from May through the first frost, not just once in spring. Hot pink buds open to rich pink flowers in the primary May flush, then waves of fresh blooms continue through summer and fall without any deadheading required. That continuous reblooming habit, combined with deep green foliage that sets off the pink beautifully, makes Sonic Bloom® Pink one of the most reliably colorful landscape shrubs available for the full growing season. Hummingbird attracting, deer resistant, clay soil tolerant, and easy to grow in Zones 4–8.

May be covered by USPP #24,572 or other patents.

May Through Frost — Continuous Blooming Without Deadheading

The reblooming quality is what separates Sonic Bloom® Pink from standard weigela varieties. Most weigelas have a glorious spring bloom period that lasts a few weeks — then they’re done for the season. Sonic Bloom® Pink blooms on both old and new wood, producing fresh flowers continuously from May through the first frost without any deadheading to trigger rebloom. The result is months of hot pink color through the entire growing season rather than a brief spring display.

Hummingbirds Love It — Deer Resist It

Sonic Bloom® Pink’s tubular pink flowers are exactly the shape and color that hummingbirds seek — and they visit reliably throughout the long blooming season, adding movement and wildlife interest to the garden alongside the continuous floral display. The deer resistance means that same continuous display stays intact in gardens where deer pressure would damage or eliminate less resistant flowering shrubs.

Clay Soil Tolerant — Adaptable and Low-Maintenance

Sonic Bloom® Pink’s adaptability to clay and alkaline soils opens it to garden situations where many ornamental shrubs would struggle — a practical advantage for home gardeners whose soil conditions are less than ideal. Full sun for six or more hours produces the most prolific bloom display. If pruning is needed, do so immediately after the spring bloom flush to preserve the reblooming habit.

Why Gardeners Choose Sonic Bloom® Pink Weigela
  • May through frost continuous blooming — months of color without deadheading
  • Blooms on old and new wood — the reblooming mechanism that most weigelas lack
  • Hot pink to rich pink flowers — vivid, long-lasting color against deep green foliage
  • Attracts hummingbirds — wildlife value through the entire bloom season
  • Deer resistant — reliable color even where deer pressure is consistent
  • Clay soil tolerant — adaptable to less-than-ideal garden conditions
