Can thi Weigela grow in containers?
M. L. S on Jan 4, 2020
BEST ANSWER: When I first received them they were very small and I planted them in planters/ containers they are getting bigger it is my intention to put them in the ground but they have been in container for a couple of seasons
Could this grow in a large container, say a half barrel?
Jennifer R on Mar 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Sure, that would be beautiful! That is also the right container size. Just make sure it stays evenly moist as it will dry out quicker than if it were planted in the ground.
What does it look like in the winter? I'm trying to decide where to place it in my yard.
cmcree on Apr 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Weigela is a deciduous plant, meaning it will drop its leaves after a couple of killing frosts. It will bloom until fall, when the leaves turn a very deep purple, then drop for the winter.
Will it attract butterflies?

When I received it looked fine... when planting there was hardly any root to it... watered it regularly and fertilized also... struggled all of last year.... just maintained without the needed roots for a small plant.... came up this spring from the bottom... not over four inches tall now... still pampering it... have had some of these through the years potted … just way too small when I bought this one... hoping it makes the root growth it needs to sustain itself this year... fingers crossed...
