“When James H. Stark moved west and started his business here in 1816, no one could have imagined the influence the business and family would have had on our state and nation. As the industry leader in fruit-breeding and tree production, the products they have introduced to the world are now mainstays in our yards, kitchens and grocery stores … the Stark family has made its mark on Missouri in many ways." — Missouri Governor Jay Nixon

200 Years and Growing
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and could not put it down at times because of the history that was told as well as the historic photos. My family has always bought many of our orchard trees through Stark Bro's. and it makes me proud to know that I am supporting such a heritage that still is alive in our country after so many generations, even hundreds of years. I was intrigued to learn the history of how Luther Burbank was instrumental with his numerous contributions, as well as how the discoveries were made of the Delicious and Golden Delicious apple and that they were shared with the world by Stark Bro's. I look forward to seeing many more great discoveries being made by this great American icon in agriculture. I hope that another generation of Stark's will rejoin the heritage of their great family name in the near future.

Wonderfully written history of a fine old nursery. As a collector of pre-1928 Stark Bros catalogs having a copy of this book tops my collection off.
