Why did you choose this?

Seems like a fun, unique addition to add to strawberry patch.

Never tried it

this is unique

Infant grandson loves strawberries and we have a spot to fill along fence and in lots of sun.

Hello, are these ever bearing plants? I plan on growing in my temperature controlled greenhouse. I have bananas and coffee growing currently with great success. Thank you.

Yes! These are ever bearing. They are also super sweet. Not that bitter sour after tasting June bearing strawberries have. If you make the water or soil a little more acidic it will make them even sweeter and juicier. Mine are grown in soil PH 5.5 so its very acidic but my berries love it and I love berries. Not all strawberries like it that acidic. I would not go above 6.5 on the PH meter tho. Blueberries LOVE 5.0-5.8 soil as well. That's why I plant them together. Plus the taste of a strawberry in the right cheek and a HUGE blueberry in the left cheek makes my eyes water and juices just spill out from between my lips...I LOVE my berry patches.

Are the berries genetically modified?

Hi Janis - We appreciate you reaching out to us. This berry is not genetically modified. The pineberry is from cross breeding, not to be confused with genetic engineering. If you have any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Have a great day!

Should strawberry plant produce this year?

Since they make so many runners, I might consider cutting them off the first year to let the plant concentrate on fruit production, Also make sure that the fertilizer is correctly balance for fruiting, as opposed to leaf growth. (Medium Nitrogen and Phosphorus and high potassium).

Should I cover strawberries during winter?

In zone 5 I cover my strawberries with 6-8 inches of leaves, It keeps them from heaving out of the ground if there is a warm period in the winter that lets the ground thaw and re-freeze.

Do you get a set of plants or just one plant? Cuz $11.99 seams a bit much for a single plant

We appreciate you reaching out to us. At this time of the season it is only offered as a single potted plant that will arrive in a 4 inch pot. The bare root bundles of 25 are only offered from February to May.

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

Is this just one plant, or is there multiple, also how big is the plant?

We appreciate you reaching out to us. Currently this is only available in the gallon pot and it is 1 single plant, shipping 6-12 inches

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

Sorry for the stupid question, I'm new to this stuff. What's the difference between the 4" plot and the 1 gallon container? Obviously the 1 gallon comes with more, but how many plants is that?

Thank you for your question. It's not stupid at all. The difference is the root system; the number of plants is the same in each pot. A 4" pot will have a small root system and won't produce a great deal of fruit when it starts bearing. A 1-gallon Pineberry Strawberry will have a very well-developed root system, which means it will transplant better, adapt to its new home more quickly and bear much more fruit after a year (with proper care, of course). In short: The bigger the pot, the less time you have to wait!

Is it poisonous to cats?

I’m not sure. We don’t have a cat.

What variety is the pineberry? (White Carolina, or other?)

It is a White Carolina Pineberry.

When do they start flowering? Mine is still young. Planted close to a month already.

My Pineberry plants did not flower last year, the first year I had planted them. They did
send out feelers to start new plants but did not get flowers and fruit until this year. I don't know where you live but I live in Pennsylvania so maybe that was part of the reason, cooler here. I do have them this year and am waiting on them to get ripe!

Very pleased!
Arrived quickly! It was very small but quickly grew full and luscious! I got the plant in late summer and, because of its age, I brought it inside for the winter (Pittsburgh, PA, zone 6). It is still beautiful but assume it will eventually go into dormancy. I am eager to experience the fruit this summer! Thank you.

Packaged well, came with a surprise second strawberry plant hidden under a large leaf! bought this because I couldn't get seeds of this variety to germinate. Plants arrived very healthy and still are in my patch a few months later. Not flowering yet but hoping they will in June.

Very Resilient and Vigorous
It hasnt fruit yet but we planted it in the midst of the hot SC summer. It grew fairly well and produced 3 runners even though another strawberry I got at Lowes was dying off one by one. Excited to see what it taste like next year
