I am intrigued by this classic heirloom variety. With a keen interest in cooking, I am excited to give cette bonne, vieille pomme a try.

I am very interested in preserving heritage, or antique, fruit varieties. Today's new strains and varieties can be delicious, but there is just something special about enjoying an apple that someone else enjoyed hundreds of years ago. Also, it can't hurt to grow an apple that is considered a gourmet culinary treat in France. One Calville Blanc apple is also reported to have a higher vitamin C content than one orange can provide.

Calville Blanc Apple
Growing well! We have an older tree of this variety and got our first apples from it last year. It takes awhile to produce but worth the wait! When we tasted the apple we decided we needed another tree of this variety. The taste is awesome! Slightly sweet and tart. Knobby appearance but the taste is great! Looking forward to making cider from these apples

First year of growth is promising and healthy
My tree is now one year old and it is growing nicely. The Calville Blanc is growing at an average rate compared to the other varieties that I planted at the same time. It arrives and looks like a stick, and one year later it actually resembles a small healthy tree. Customer service was also very helpful with resolving mistakes made in shipment.
