I used to pick apples, and the russet has an unusual flavor, and it's a late apple. I'd like to get a yellow transparent (very early) as well, and have a long apple season.

My Dad had Golden Russet apple trees, when he passed away I took cuttings but the grafts failed to take. They taste great, are pest resistant in the Detroit, MI area & are hard to find for sale here. Also on sale at a great end of season price. Thanks Stark Bro's.

Is this Golden Russet apple tree resistant to Fire Blight? Or is it susceptible to it?
Gene P. on Jan 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Golden Russet is susceptible, but a preventive spraying program with Ferti-Lome?? will abate it:

If you buy in large quantities, is there a price break?

Great tree
This is a beautiful tree. I believe it was only 1 year old when I purchased it and it has now been planted for 2 years in New York City. It has not fruited yet but is growing nicely with very little maintenance.

Golden Russet Apple
My Golder Russet tree is doing well & is a favorite of mine. It is a good all-purpose apple that I compare somewhat favorably to the Grimes Golden.

Filled out nicely!
I would definitely recommend this product. It is one year old and grew over 2 feet in that time and is very healthy-looking and filled out nicely. There are no blossoms yet but that will come hopefully next year. I am very impressed with how it looked in one year's time thank you

My favorite Apple, hope it stays strong.
Hoping it would resist pine rust, but by fall it's a bit unhappy, still healthy. It also suffered some bark removal from rabbits in the first winter (now has a tree guard). Between the rabbits, deer and disease I would have expected it to have given up, but it bloomed and has small apples this year, we'll see if they make it to fall. I would expect as the tree continues to grow it will get more resilient to nuisances.
