Can I plant in a pot the first year for it to mature, then move to a permanent spot? Or will it disrupt the tree?
S J on May 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can plant it in a pot. Just make sure that the pot is big enough to give the roots some room to grow. I had some columnar trees in 16-inch wide pots that were about 10-inches deep. The trees seemed quite happy, as long as I kept them watered. Also, if you have deer in your area, you may want to put some chicken wire around the tree ??? AND covering the TOP of the tree. My deer really liked to nibble the very top of the Golden Treat Urban Apple tree - the growth point - which stunted the tree, for a while! Once I stopped the nibbling, the tree put on more height.

Is it possible to force into flower/fruit inside a greenhouse in the Winter?
Emily B on Nov 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Apple trees require a dormant rest period to remain healthy and fruitful; this typically occurs in late fall through winter. While it may be possible to grow this tree in a greenhouse and keep it awake with heat and light throughout winter, there is no guarantee that it will bloom or fruit under these conditions.
Why do you no longer sell these Urban Dwarf columnar trees?
Chelsea G on Sep 28, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We are no longer offering this product; we keep the information on the website for the benefit of customers who have purchased it in the past. We usually discontinue a variety because we've discovered another variety that produces better fruit, is more disease resistant, cold-hardy, etc.
