About the Shanxi Li Jujube Tree

The Shanxi Li Jujube Tree is one of the largest-fruiting jujube varieties, producing big, pear-shaped fruit with a crisp, sweet, apple-like flavor. As the fruit ripens, it turns a rich reddish-brown and develops a slight wrinkle—earning jujubes their nickname “Chinese Dates.” Each fruit averages about 1.5 inches long with a single seed and excellent fresh-eating quality.

Beyond its delicious fruit, the Shanxi Li is also a striking ornamental tree, featuring glossy foliage, attractive textured bark, and abundant fragrant white flowers in mid-summer. It is highly productive, early to bear, and reliably consistent year after year.

Extremely tough and resilient, the Shanxi Li Jujube Tree thrives in heat, drought, and challenging climates. Naturally pest and disease resistant, it’s especially well-suited for warm or arid regions where summer heat helps the fruit fully ripen. A great choice for home growers who want large, sweet jujube fruit with minimal maintenance.
