Can this nectarine be grown in a pot?

You can grow almost anything in a container! This excellent article will answer your questions and provide good advice. Please see "Growing Fruit Trees in Containers" //www.starkbros.com/growing-guide/article/fruit-trees-in-containers-pt1

does fruit bear on last season growth?

Nectarines, like peaches, produce fruit on last year’s growth (1-year-old wood). This means the fruiting buds develop on the shoots that grew during the previous growing season.

When pruning nectarines, it’s important to:

Encourage new growth each year because that’s where next season’s fruit will come from.
Thin out older, non-productive branches to stimulate fresh growth.
Avoid cutting off all the new shoots, or you’ll reduce your fruit production for the following year.

Is this a good time to plant in northern Ohio?

We appreciate you reaching out to us. Because weather and soil conditions vary so much from year to year and even within your zone, it's best to think of your planting time as a range of favorable conditions instead of an exact time.

You can plant new plants and trees:
1) when the ground is not frozen.
2) when daytime temperatures are above freezing (32ºF) and below 90ºF.
3) when extreme weather (blizzard, hail, torrential rain, etc.) is not in the forecast. Be sure to keep plants watered if you're transplanting in warm and/or dry weather.

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

Why does the leaves on my nectarine look bad?

I am sorry to hear that this has happened. Please email Info@starkbros.com with pictures and a brief description so we can look into this for you.

Would two flavortop nectarines pollinate each other?

Lovely tree received!
HUGE bare-root received, that I promptly chopped down to knee-level. I have had great success using the 'grow a little fruit tree' method with a peach and plum both previously purchased from Stark. It leafed out quickly and lushly!

Flavortop nectarine tree
I purchased this tree 2 years ago, I had a nectarine last year, I watered it every day thru the drought, a slow grower but it is all bloomed up and I can't wait to see what it produces this year, I put 10 10 10 fertilizer on it twice a year, looks healthy, very sweet to taste
