Description

What a peach! This non-browning heirloom beauty is a fine canning and freezing peach, with excellent flavor and texture. Its natural sweetness and juiciness bring back such fond memories of the way peaches used to taste. The vigorous tree produces great big yellow-fleshed fruits, which are easy to peel and pit. Performs particularly well in the mid-Atlantic region. Resistant to bacterial leaf spot and more winter-hardy than Loring. Freestone. Ripens in early August, toward the end of Redhaven season. Self-pollinating, but yields bigger crops when planted near a different peach variety with a similar bloom time.

Why did you choose this?

1st time growing in WV so had to rely on descriptions and google recommendations.

I have one of these trees that was loaded with peaches. Not bad for Minnesota since no other peach tree has survived here. A sheltered spot is required.

Wanted to add these. They’re new to us. We have 100 peach trees and added a new variety

Heard good things

Can I plant this tree (Bounty peach tree) in March? I am living in Amherst MA.

We appreciate you reaching out to us. Because weather and soil conditions vary so much from year to year and even within your zone, it's best to think of your planting time as a range of favorable conditions instead of an exact time.

You can plant new plants and trees:
1) when the ground is not frozen.
2) when daytime temperatures are above freezing (32ºF) and below 90ºF.
3) when extreme weather (blizzard, hail, torrential rain, etc.) is not in the forecast. Be sure to keep plants watered if you're transplanting in warm and/or dry weather.

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

Is the Bounty a good canning peach?

Yes, the Bounty peach is an excellent choice for canning! Bounty peaches are known for their firm texture, sweet flavor, and low acidity, which makes them well-suited for canning. Additionally, they are freestone peaches, meaning the flesh easily separates from the pit, making preparation easier for canning.

Bounty peaches also hold up well to heat, so they maintain good texture and flavor throughout the canning process.

Is this a freestone?

Yes, the Bounty Peach is a Freestone variety.

What are good cross pollinators for the bounty peach?

Any varriety will work as they are self pollinating and planting any other type of peach will just help yield larger crops.

What is the best pollinating peach varieties for the bounty peach… want to plant only two trees total… one for eating one for peach pie and cobbler… bounty looked like a good one… open to suggestions… thanks?

Thank you for reaching out for us! Peaches are self-pollinating and only require one to bear fruit however planting two varieties will help you yield a larger crap. I currently do not see any Bounty peaches available but I would like to recommend to other varieties that have wonderful flavor 1 being the red Haven Peach and the starking delicious peach. These two are they have wonderful flavor and will work well for your use. I hope this information is helpful and if we can be further assistance please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Have a great day!

Delicious
I'm so disappointed it was sold out before I bought one. This is the variety I always ask for at the orchard I used to work at. Large, delicious, juicy, and sweet. We only eat them fresh here, so I can't vouch for cannability, baking, or cooking. We always have to send the children outside to eat as the juice really runs:) I believe these would be considered a bit coarser texture??. I believe the flavor makes up for it, tho.
