Questions & Answers
About Sept 28 in my part of Wisconsin. Pick them when mature but not ripe, then store in the refrigerator for 30 days, remove to a 70 degree room until they are ripe. This avoids wasp, lady bug, crow, etc damage and also provides great tasting pears - the very best pears!
I really do not know. I would go with Stark's recommendations, whenever possible. That is why I bought a moonglow also. Sorry.
No European pears ripen on the tree; you must pick them prior to ripening and let them mature off the tree. Here is an article in our Growing Guide about harvesting pears: https://www.starkbros.com/growing-guide/article/pears-ready-to-harvest
And comice?
We appreciate you reaching out to us. We use several different rootstocks, depending upon the desired result and what is available. For that reason, we're unable to guarantee a specific rootstock.

Because these are my favorite pears!
This is the world's best tasting pear in my opinion!
I lost a different type of pear that I had purchased from Stark, and going to try the Comice pear.
Good reputation - also a suitable pollinator for Red D'Anjou, which I already have.
