What is ezstart?

A merit of this tall rectangular pot is the severed taproot, which forces feeder roots to grow within the pot. These feeder roots then grow to the bottom of the pot, and are naturally air-pruned. This process encourages the development of a strong mass of roots within the pot to support the tree during its growth and transplantation.

European Pear duo
I bought them late last spring, on sale. With the evident help of mycorrhizal fungus in the planting holes but no commercial fertilizer, each grew 24" during 1st season. This spring the Bartlett made 20 blossoms from which 2 fruit survived; they approach tennis ball size. This year, each will be host to grafts of 3-4 other pear varieties.

Healthy, Happy Pear Trees
This was my first-ever purchase from Stark Bros. and it will not be my last! These arrived in perfect condition, and we acclimated them and planted them as specified on the website. We got a three-day cold snap immediately after, but it has warmed up, and they look healthy and happy. Whew, those 2x2x2 holes were not fun to dig, but I cannot wait for spring to see them grow.

Great buy and healthy pair of trees!
I purchased the semi dwarf pair of pear trees this spring. It was a great flash sale I couldn't pass up! I placed my order and they arrived quickly and not damaged. I immediately unpackaged them and soaked the root balls in a bucket of water for 1 hr while I dug my planting holes. I then planted them and applied mulch around the trees and watered them in. They started leafing out within a few days. I was so excited to see them wake up from dormancy . I've been diligent in watering them twice a week since. Considering this is the hottest dry summer in SE Texas they are still going strong and seem healthy. I can't wait till next spring to see them really take off! I have been very pleased with everything I've purchased from StarkBros. I wish I had more property to buy more trees!
