Description

Also called Fuyugaki persimmon

The most widely grown persimmon tree. Bears young and yields large crops. The name translates to “winter persimmon”. Slightly drooping branches provide an elegant look in the landscape. Deep-orange fruit is medium-sized and oblate in shape, with a consistently sweet taste. Stays firm even when ripe. Keeps well for several weeks. Non-astringent. Seedless. Heat-tolerant. Ripens in September. Grafted. Self-pollinating.
Note: Our persimmon trees are grown in EZ Start® pots, which allow the roots to self-air prune and redirect energy to producing a dense mass of feeder roots. The main tap root will begin forming once planted in its permanent location, and will fully develop over the next 2-3 years.

Great product!
Ordered a fuyu persimmon and got it in the ground in May. Bare root, bare everything. The tree was either dead, or dormant. I'm happy to announce it was sleeping, and has awakened quite well! It has 9 new growth shoots (I've trimmed a couple from unwanted locations) that are all about 12" long! Really looking forward to watching this tree grow over the next few years and eventually eating a truly fresh and ripe persimmon.

Fuyu Persimmon Tree
My Fuyu Persimmon tree has 8 fruit the first year, last year. This year there are many more on this beautiful tree. I have not counted them but at a glance there seem to be over 20. It is only 5 1/2 feet tall but very healthy.
I love the crisp, sweet flavor they have.
