Description

Attractive red skin and light pink flesh. Rich, mildly sweet flavor is reminiscent of onions and garlic. Great for fresh-eating in salads, adding to sautées, and roasting. Each bulb grows to yield 3 to 4 shallots. Plants are not prone to bolting, but any bolting plants can be removed and used as scallions. Harvest in summer after leaves wither. Stores well.

I'm impressed
Panted 6in apart the 15 bulbs from a 1-lb order. ALL show healthy growth. They are 'spreaders'. Will plant 10in apart next year.
