Description
Grows well in wet clay soil. Brilliant white heads are covered by large (and abundant) wrapper leaves that protect against sun, heat and cold; easy to grow in the North or South. A classic Dutch variety that self-blanches. Prefers rich, well-composted soil, but doesn’t mind clay. Transplant or direct sow, and side dress when buds begin to form. This plant is a heavy feeder and bearer; watch closely and pick before the curds begin to loosen. Photo courtesy of Baker Creek Heirloom Seed.
