How large are the plants when they arrive?
Marianne A on May 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. Our weigela will be shipped in a 4" pot at approximately 4" tall.
do they resist slugs?
Anita S on May 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Mine are in an area where I have lots of snails and slugs, which is odd since I live in Utah and it's a desert state, but they do not seem to touch the weigela.
Would this shrub do well in full sun? I am trying to start an English Garden Island and I need some flowering shrubs to mix with my perennials.
Carol S on Jun 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have two of these shrubs planted at the base of a rustic fence to hide a large AC unit on the south(front) side of our house in full sun. They have been there for two years and are growing great and they look great, also. Full sun has not been a problem even with the extremely high temperatures, but I have given early morning and dusk watering when needed. They seem to have a spreading low branching nature.
I live in a coastal area with an average annual temperature of 68-72. Maybe 10-15 days of temps in the 80's, and no freezes. Will weigela fare well in this environment?
Marion P on Jul 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This weigela should do fine for you there. Your location sounds divine, I might add!
Can I plant this bush near the fruit tree? If yes, how close i can plant it. Thank you
Elena on Feb 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Since this weigela doesn't mind growing in partial shade, it should be fine as an underplanting near fruit trees. Just keep in mind the mature size of the shrub so that it doesn't crowd your tree's trunk and create an environment where fungal issues could thrive. Leave at least 2 to 3 feet of space between your tree's trunk and the weigela.
