How do I prune 4 in 1?

Prune to keep each variety's marked branch in check with the others. Since there are several varieties on one tree, one may try to dominate the rest, so just make sure they are all kept about the same length to maintain balance.

What average height are the buds grafted on above the rootstock?

Typically, the lowest bud is located 18-22 inches above the rootstock.

"Four" years old and a tree full of blooms
Not sure how old he was when he came to me, but he is 4 years old by my garden's reckoning. Last year only two of the grafts flowered and I got 6 wizened inedible apples that didn't live to harvest time.
I've had serious canker fungus and cedar spot issues. This winter/spring we treated consistently with copper. This spring, I have a full tree of blooms--all four grafts. I have hope.

Thriving
I have never ordered a tree or any sort of plant online, so at first I felt skeptical. Especially after I received the tree in the mail, it was more like a $50 twig. I followed all the directions and cared for my little "stick in the ground" wondering if it was even alive. After a few weeks it finally sprouted a leaf! That was a very exciting moment for me. Now, a year later, the twig looks like a healthy little tree. It's doubled if not tripled in size and has several branches full of leaves. It even survived a late freeze. I am very pleased with my purchase and plan to order a few more trees.

Antique apple tree
I loved the thought of different types of apples all on 1 tree. Planted this last year and so far this spring it is doing an awesome job and looks very healthy. Not sure when I should be getting fruit but will be excited whenever they come!

Fast grower, and gorgeous!
This came as a bare-root "twig," about 2 1/2-3' long, with a couple of other twigs grafted onto it. Eleven months later, it is between 6 1/2-7' tall and fully leafed, with any number of branches, and the trunk is already a good 1 1/2" thick. It is unbelievably sturdy - we've never had to stake it like some of the other trees we've planted, and although it said the tree likely wouldn't fruit for 3-4 years, it had a dozen or so blossoms on it this spring. Can't wait to see how they turn out!

My four on one apple tree
Even though I was delayed in planting my apple tree, it did not seem to be affected; it sprouted leaves very quickly.

Great buy!
The shipping was quicker than expected, and the tree was very healthy! It almost immediately sprouted leaves, and is still growing strong a year? later. Amazing.

4 on 1 Antuque apple
This is the second year for my 4 on 1 Antique Apple. All four grafts are healthy and have blossoms. I am very pleased with the bare root tree and look forward to having apples in a year or two.

Growing
This is the second summer with the 4 in one and two of the types had blossoms at the same time as also some of our other trees this spring but nothing pollinated. We had a cold spring and there was little insect activity and no bees to be seen at the time. Hoping for better luck next year!
