When is the proper application time? I have just a few grape plants which are now producing grapes, but getting the black spots on the grapes and some spots on leaves. Is it too late for this season and need to just wait until next year?
Janet S on Jun 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. When black spots appear, it is usually too late. I applied captan at bud formation, when young shoots are about 3 imches, flower formation, full bloom and fruit formation.

Our apple tree has fruit which has something like brown rot. When you split the fruit they have some dark bugs hat craws out of the fruit. What is this nd what type of spray or fungicide should I use.?
Olivia C on Jul 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It may be a little too late for this year's crop, but this may mitigate the problem. A preventive spraying program in the spring will prevent this next year. Bonide Citrus, Fruit, Nut Orchard Spray is a natural product and is very effective:://

Captan additive is a must in today's sprays
A few years ago had trouble with my fruit rotting easily on the tree, especially if wet weather as fruit matures. A farm store representative told me a few years ago, most fruit tree sprays have cut back in the amount of captan in their sprays. So as fruit matures I add some more captan to make up for this and have less trouble with rotting on the tree.

Bonide Captan
So far, great results. The first application on my grapes got rid of the brown spots on the leaves and vines. Second application will be this upcoming Sunday. Also took care of the mildew on squash plants. I'm very satisfied so far.
