Description

Effective, balanced and easy-to-use. This all-purpose spray controls pests and diseases at the same time. It contains Captan, Malathion and Carbaryl to control a wide range of fruit-tree pests. One pint will protect eight mature dwarf trees for one full growing season. Not for use on Pear or Asian Pear trees.

Because Bonide® Fruit Tree Spray contains a mild insecticide, it should not be used during bloom time. Give the bees a chance to pollinate your trees.

How often can you spray apple trees with this product?
Kwoods on Mar 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I use twice per spring - 1st at bud swelling and then 2nd at "pink" showing on buds. Late fall and winter I spray Bordeaux mixture (copper sulphate and slaked lime) along with horticultural spray with winter application. If I don't do this regime, I have NO fruit.
why can't this be used on pear trees?
Rich L on Apr 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Some pear trees can be sensitive to certain ingredients included in this spray, so to avoid injury to those trees, this spray is not recommended.
D does leaving it mixed in the sprayer affect its potency?
Nancy M on Jun 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There probably is some affect on the potency, but it will certainly destroy the seals of the sprayer.
I just planted apple trees this season. Can I use this product on them?
Daniel P on Jun 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I follow the University of Kentucky home orchards spray schedule; you need to google your local State University horticultural information for home gardeners for what to spray and when, it's VERY helpful and important. Bonide Fruit Tree spray can be used twice a year on apples, and not within 14 days of picking the apples to eat. You need to spray first at petal fall to avoid many apple issues, when 90% petals have fallen. Then I spray again about 30 days later. Insect (worms) damage occurs from laying eggs in blooms that hatch and eat from the inside. If you don't do the early sprays, I've found that the later ones are pretty useless, damage has been done. BUT, only spray in evening when the bees have returned to their hives, as Bonide Fruit Tree spray will kill our precious bees. I also use Bonide Orchard spray effectively, from Stark, it is not so heavy duty and does much good. RS from Kentucky.
Can this Fruit Tree Spray be used on 2nd and 3rd year dwarf fruit trees or only mature ones?
Paula K on Mar 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I have used it on my cherry and paw paw trees from the start. When the trees bloomed I quit till blooming was over. I have had good luck with it. I am not sure but there is a tree you shouldn't use it on. I believe it is a pear tree. Will have to check reading material with bottle. Hope it helps. Dave

Jennifer B on Sep 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Yes, it can. Mix 11?2 tablespoons per gallon of water and that will take care of the problem on your evergreens.

Bonide Fruit Tree Spray
Bonide Fruit Tree Spray helped keep my 34 fruit trees from Stark from succombing to the Oriental Fruit Moth and Codling Moth. I had to keep spraying as they Codling Moths were terrible this year (2016) and I'm still battling them. It is not rated for pear trees; I sprayed on apples, cherries, peaches, pears, and plums. BONIDE ORCHARD SPRAY from Starks is best for all types of fruits.
