Hyslop Crabapple
Description
This well known, heirloom crab has been grown for well over 100 years. Unlike the Whitney or Chestnut crab, this is not an apple for fresh eating. The Hyslop is one of the best for jellies, pickles and for hard cider because of its tannins. They are also a perfect addition to apple sauces. Ripens in late-August. Useful pollinizer for early to mid-season blooming varieties.
