Need pollinator for my Rainier Cherry

Pollenator

Because I have 3 large trees that are over 25 years old and they are dying. They look like the same cherry.

is this a bare root?

Yes, it is.

Will this cross pollinate with the Ebony Pearl Sweet Cherry?

I got an answer from another website: New sweet cherry from the Research and Extension Center in Prosser, WA. ... The tree is upright and vigorous. ... BlackPearl® is one of the best cherries in it's season, ripening 10 days before Bing. ... varieties in the U.S. Will not pollinate Ulster, Royal Ann, Emperor Francis, or Lambert. ... Your best bet for pollination of any sweet cherry is to use a sour pie cherry!

Will the Royal Ann cross pollinate with a Black Tartarian?  Will it  pollinate with a sour cherry?

Thank you for your question. Common rule of cherry tree pollination is any sweet cherry will pollinate another sweet cherry. Except when it comes to the Bing, there are three varieties that will not cross-pollinate with it and it is the Emperor Francis, Lambert, or Napoleon/Royal Ann. Other than those you will be fine to choose any other sweet variety for pollination. It is always best to use a Tart cherry to pollinate another tart cherry as we can not guarantee pollination between a sweet and tart.

What are the recommened chill hours for the Napoleon Royal Ann Sweet Cherry?

This variety Needs 700 chill hours

What is the Mature height of tree?

I have the same question, and I don't understand the answer given. Are there options such as Dwarf/Semi-Dwarf/etc? Because I only see one option, which is "bare root." The question was: what is the height of a mature tree?

will this pollinate with the cherry shrub varieties?  (juliet and romeo)

The romeo and juliet cherry shrubs are hybrids from the University of Saskatchewan. They are bred from sour cherries, not sweet cherries, though they are considered to taste sweet enough to be good eaten fresh, therefore they are not suitable pollinators for sweet cherries, as most sources suggest sweet cherries need to be pollinated by another genetic sweet cherry,

When is the best time to plant the Royal ann?

We appreciate you reaching out to us. Because weather and soil conditions vary so much from year to year and even within your zone, it's best to think of your planting time as a range of favorable conditions instead of an exact time.

You can plant new plants and trees:
1) when the ground is not frozen.
2) when daytime temperatures are above freezing (32ºF) and below 90ºF.
3) when extreme weather (blizzard, hail, torrential rain, etc.) is not in the forecast. Be sure to keep plants watered if you're transplanting in warm and/or dry weather.

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

Cosmic Crisp Apple Tree
Let me start by saying Stark Bros. is the only way to shop for everything that grows in S.E. Idaho
On 5/21/25 I order an Apple tree; it arrived very timely the following week
We had the hole dug and prepped unpacked let tree acclimate a few days and weather were perfect for planting, I had seen a few of the leaf's wilted, with concern I kept the ground moist with the help of a moisture meter, well I'm happy to say it's currently THRIVING all the leaf's are opening up and buds everywhere.
Very Satisfied with Stark Bros. OVERALL ..! GARY GIANNINI

Napoleon Royal Ann Sweet Cherry Tree
I'm so happy I'm having much success with this tree. I know it takes at least four years for cherry trees to produce fruit; but I'll patiently await.

Free replacement
I bought in June of 2023 as a 4-5 feet bare root. It did not survive but Stark Bro's replaced with a 3-4 feet bare root by August 2023. Planted in a 30 gallon grow bag in cone 7b. Looking good after 9 months.
