This cherry was planted in the high cold desert a year ago. It was a whip. the following month rain fell almost every day. The summer gave good rain and otherwise the whip was watered at least five times a week. During the dry winter months, the tree received snowfall at least once a month.
This spring it popped with lush leaves and had grown a full 6 inches.
It has a wire basket around it for protection from deer and rabbits and there is an additional two inches of bark mulch under the tree.
With good fortune, we'll have cheeries in three or four more years.
thank you.

Quality Trees
I received two bare root trees. Planted them in the front yard to which the deer thought they were also tasty. The same year moved them to the back yard and they still are doing great. Great quality trees.

Growing poorly
Not so much luck with this one. No fruit yet. Very slow growing. But I do have Japanese Beetles - that probably one of the reason. This year I will have to spray (organically) So I hope it will pick up. Zone 6 b, PA
