The texture is smooth, medium-firm and dense, with an pronounced cherry flavor and nice little crunch. This variety has a very high brix (sugar) count, at 21.The long stems won’t break off easily when harvesting, in the event that you want to leave them on for an elegant dessert or cocktail presentation. if planting two of a king. ebony pearl trees allow pollination.???
blkson on May 16, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The same variety cannot pollinate itself. You will need another sweet cherry variety for proper pollination.

One species cannot pollinate another; for example, a plum cannot pollinate an apple, and a pear cannot pollinate a peach. A fruit tree that requires a pollinator needs a different variety of the same species that has a similar bloom time.
Is it better to have two trees for better fruit. Like a male and female tree ?
Keith P on May 13, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We appreciate you reaching out to us. Rule of thumb for pollination of a cherry tree as they are not listed male and female. Any sweet cherry will pollinate another sweet cherry and any variety of tart cherry will pollinate another variety of tart cherry.

Ebony Pearl cherries
Ebony Pearls are great cherries; huge with excellent flavor and texture. Lapins might be a good pollinator, another cherry I highly recommend for the home grower, especially in climates with colder winters. Also a great eating cherry and they are such easy growers. I am a commercial cherry grower in The Dalles, OR, perfect cherry country.
